Halloween

Halloween is coming up so I’ve started on my annual Halloween viewing and listening. On Tuesday I watched It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on television. Poor Sally, so fond of Linus that she’ll spend  hours in a pumpkin patch and miss tricks or treats. Garfield’s Halloween Adventure is also a favourite of mine. I’ve also listened to the song This Is Halloween from the movie A Nightmare Before Christmas. My all time favourite song to listen to on Halloween is one called My Lady’s Coach which I taped a long time ago. It’s about an cursed ashen white lady who drives around in a coach made of bones, driven by a headless horseman. She invites those she meets on the road to step inside and the coach is driven to Okehampton Castle where the lady has to pluck one blade of grass. When the castle mound is finally free of grass she’ll be free to rest. It was only recently that I thought to google this song and found out the song may have been based on a real lady, Lady Howard.. I’ve never heard this song since then so I’m really glad I decided to tape it all those years ago. Happy Halloween!
