After going into hiding for a while, Detective Michael Bennett is finally able to return to New York City with his family.  He is  now in charge of a squad in Harlem where he is called to investigate something very unusual at an abandoned building. A charred body shows up at the building and as the investigation opens up, he is drawn into the bowels of the criminal world.
