Mackenzie Health Vaughan Library is now open!

Introducing VPL’s newest location, the Mackenzie Health Vaughan Library!

Situated at the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, this 4,000 square foot library will serve the local community, patients, staff and caregivers. It will provide access to all of our physical and digital collections and feature programming and events for all ages. Come and enjoy a book, study in a comfortable spot or bring the kids for a storytime. You can also benefit from our health literacy resources as well as trained staff to help you with your needs.

The doors will be open starting Monday, August 16^th with an official opening event on Monday, September 13^th. Stay tuned for event details.

Mon – Thurs: 9am-9pm
Fri: 9am-6pm
Sat & Sun: 9am-5pm

The New Library at the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is nearly ready and is anticipated to open in Fall 2021!

It’s a 4000 sq ft library with a beautiful and welcoming ambiance. Customers will have access to our physical and digital collections, discover health literacy expertise and relax while reading a good book or magazine.

Early in 2017, Mackenzie Health (MH) and Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) began an innovative collaboration of a proposed shared facility rooted in a shared vision of library space and services at the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital (MVH).

This shared vision was to:

Co-design an exceptional public library at MVH that will serve as a welcoming destination for hospital patients, families, staff, physicians, volunteers and the greater Vaughan community.
Offer public library services at MVH that will connect and inspire all.

Guided by this vision and design work, the project with our partners began. The project is well underway with an anticipated opening of the new 4000 sq ft. Hospital Library in December 2020.
