Building Projects

We continue to see progress at VMC Library and VMC Express. In the library area, field carpet installation is now complete in preparation for the carpet tile installation. This activity is being coordinated in tandem with library shelving delivery and set up. Some glazing installation and millwork activity continues to progress as well.

Teaching Kitchen

Activities in both library spaces continue to progress. The non-carpeted areas in both libraries have now been installed. Carpet installation is expected to take place in the next week. Installation of lightbox fixture as well as all fixed millwork furniture including counter height study tables and integrated millwork benching is ongoing. Installation of glazing has now also begun in the second-level library space.

The VMC Library and VMC Express construction activities are progressing as per the project schedule.

The 9000 sq ft library will be located on the second floor of the office building while the 400sq ft VMC Express will be located below the library directly at the street level.

Glazing work continues and glass partitions and glass walls are being installed. Carpet installation has begun, and the staged approach is anticipated to take place over the course of the next few months. Lightboxes will also be installed on the north wall of the VMC Library. Lightboxes help maximize visibility, adds vibrancy to space, and are cost-efficient and energy-saving.

The VMC Library and VMC Express are currently under construction in the Pricewaterhouse Coopers office building in the city’s new downtown area.

PROGRESS UPDATE

Work at the VMC Library and VMC Express is progressing well as contractors continue to work in accordance with the capacity limits. Construction timeline is on track per revised post-Covid schedule, with the exception of glass related items that include glazed partitions and glass doors. This is due to an industry-wide delay currently being experienced by most glass manufactures. We are anticipating a substantial completion target for January 2021.
