You may receive your notices from the library by email, text or phone.
This includes notices for items you have requested and overdue notices.
Billing notices for lost items will be sent by email if a valid email address is on file. If no email is provided, a printed notice will be mailed.
Vaughan Public Libraries is not responsible for delivery failure due to the
problems with the receiver's wireless account or service provider.
We recommend adding VPL Text Notices as a contact with the phone number 647-694-1289.
It will help you recognize text notices from the library.
The personal information collected from you will only be used for the purpose of
setting up your library account and delivering the notifications. Your personal information
will not be shared with outside organizations, except as indicated in the
Privacy Policy.
Once it's set up, you will start receiving four types of notices:
- Courtesy - something is due soon
- Availability - a hold is ready for pickup
- Reminder - you haven't picked up your hold yet
- Overdue - something is overdue
You can even renew from Courtesy and Overdue notices! Check the Keywords Chart for keywords that you can text to get more information about your holds and the text notice services.
By making this choice, I am authorizing Vaughan Public Libraries to send notices to me via email.
This includes notices for:
- A hold that is ready for pickup
- Second hold pickup reminders
- Items that are due soon
- Overdue notices
- Inactive accounts
Due date reminders are a courtesy, you remain responsible for ensuring materials
are returned by their due date.
All emails you receive will be from 'Vaughan
Public Libraries'.

This will ensure that notices will not be treated as junk mail.
