Passport to Vaughan: Chocolate Babka
  • Let’s make chocolate babka, a delicious sweet yeasted bread, and learn more about Jewish food! Families welcome. In partnership with UJA’S Israel Engagement. Registration is $5 per participant on Eventbrite.

The babka is dairy-free and there will be a vegan-friendly option available. Presented in partnership with UJA’S Israel Engagement.

Participants will get to bring home their own babka to finish baking at home

Presented by Barnstar Kitchen’s Alissa Kondogiannis. Alissa teaches challah and babka classes throughout the GTA. She runs a kosher style catering company in Thornhill that focuses on Friday night dinners. She can be reached on Facebook and Instagram at @Barnstarkitchen. The room capacity is limited. All individuals planning to be inside the kitchen during the program must be registered as a participant. This includes any adult accompanying a child. Please contact the VMC service desk if you have questions.

We are a nut-aware space and do not use nuts in our programming, but we cannot guarantee a nut-free facility. Please alert us of any allergies when registering on Eventbrite. Our kitchen programs are held in the VSES Teaching Kitchen, located on the third floor.
