This program is for adults. The program will include either an interactive demo or a hands-on cooking/baking section, along with discussion of the featured book or theme. Come prepared to try out a dish and have a fun discussion!
Welcome to the monthly adult Cooking Books club, where we’ll cook and bake up something related to the theme of the month while we indulge in discussions over what we’ve read and tried making before the club!
Each month, we will be focusing on a different theme. We invite you to choose a cookbook either from the suggested list on Bibliocommons, or another one of your choosing, and whip up one of the recipes from that cookbook ahead of time. You can send us a photo of what you’ve made (librarian.librarian@vaughan.ca, with Cooking Books in the subject heading), along with your name and one or two sentences about the dish and your experience of it, so that we can put together a slideshow of what everyone made in advance. Please only bring your photos, as we will be cooking up something together during the session!
We are a nut-aware space and do not use nuts in our programming, but we cannot guarantee a nut-free facility. Please alert us of any allergies when registering on Eventbrite.
Our kitchen programs are held in the VSES Teaching Kitchen, located on the third floor.
